Aksara Bali · Wedding Vows
Your vows, your names, and the day itself — set down by hand in the oldest script of Bali, to be kept for the length of a marriage and beyond.
Explore the commissionsThe Moment
A wedding in Bali passes in a day. The flowers are returned, the photographs go into a folder, and the island stays behind. What remains is what was said — the vows — and almost no couple keeps them anywhere but memory.
The House of Union writes them down. Your names and your promises, rendered by hand in Aksara Bali, the sacred script of Balinese ceremony, alongside the English your families can read. Two papers, one frame, one date in the Balinese calendar that will never repeat.
It hangs where a marriage lives — and it reads differently at year one, year ten, and year fifty.
What Is Written
Signature
Both names — in English and hand-written Aksara Bali — floating between glass in a carved Balinese frame. The simplest heirloom of a marriage.
Bespoke
Your written vows and wedding date rendered in full — bilingual layout, larger format, premium paper, numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Designed in consultation with you.
Gift
Smaller frames bearing the family names, given to the parents of the couple on the wedding day — so both families carry the script home.
Ari's hand
Final calligraphy remains Balinese, human, and named.
Aksara context
The intended meaning travels with the work, not just the visual form.
Signed record
Each commission is prepared with certificate and studio provenance.
Care path
Collectors have a route back for future family names, prayers, and updates.
Through the Glass
Handmade Paper
Torn-edge Balinese handmade paper — never trimmed, never uniform, each sheet its own.
Ink & Hand
Every stroke written by Ari's hand in Aksara Bali. No fonts. No printing. No reproduction.
Carved Teak
Frames carved by Balinese hands in Ubud and Singaraja — one craftsman lineage to another.
Floating Glass
Two panes hold the paper in air — a floating-glass presentation that lets light pass through the work.
What is vowed in a day is written for a lifetime — ink, paper, and two names made one.
